Find the factory to customize and process the essence oil, and what conditions and materials are needed to produce your own products
Recently, a friend asked what conditions and information are needed to find a factory to customize a essence oil to make your own brand. From the perspective of the brand, the process is divided into six steps.
1、 First, determine the product direction. Including target audience, usage scenarios, skin texture, fragrance type, capacity, price range, minimum order quantity, and budget. Skin brightening essence oil belongs to cosmetics. It can not claim medical effect, nor can it be used to treat or repair diseases. Naming and claiming must comply with regulations, and the efficacy must be based on evidence.
2、 Prepare the subject qualification. The brand owner needs to have a business license, trademark registration certificate or acceptance notice, and brand authorization document. If the factory is commissioned for production, both parties need to sign a contract for commissioned processing and a quality agreement. As the registrant, the brand requires a quality and safety manager, adverse reaction monitoring, and recall system. The factory shall provide business license and cosmetics production license, and the licensed items shall cover the corresponding units of essence oil. We also need to provide information such as production scope, workshop conditions, and inspection capabilities.
3、 Formula and sampling. Communicate base oil, active substance, antioxidant, essence and anti-corrosion system with factory R&D. The raw materials must be listed in the "Catalogue of Used Cosmetics Raw Materials", and restricted substances must comply with regulations. Prohibited substances cannot be used. New raw materials need to be registered and filed. After sampling, conduct tests on skin texture, stability, packaging compatibility, microorganisms, etc. If claiming moisturizing, anti wrinkle, firming, soothing, etc., it is necessary to conduct efficacy evaluations or prepare materials according to regulations.
4、 Packaging and labeling. Determine the inner packaging material, outer packaging material, dropper, bottle holder, and outer box. The label should include the product name, registrant, production enterprise, production license number, ingredient list, net content, expiration date, batch number, implementation standards, and precautions. Labels must not contain medical terminology or be misleading. All claims must be based on evidence.
5、 Filing and inspection. Submit through the cosmetics filing platform of the National Medical Products Administration: filing information form, product name information, formula, implementation standards, label samples, inspection reports, efficacy claim evaluation materials. Commissioned production requires submission of a commissioning agreement. Testing may include microorganisms, heavy metals, physical and chemical indicators, etc. Only after the registration is approved can it be listed.
6、 Production and marketing. Confirm minimum order quantity, production cycle, payment, packaging material arrival, filling, inspection, and sample retention. The factory provides batch production records, inspection reports, and certificates of conformity. The brand owner shall retain the contract, filing certificate, inspection report, and label sample. Conduct adverse reaction monitoring after listing, and promptly recall any issues found.
At the end: Finding a factory for customization is not just about negotiating prices. The brand should prepare qualifications, formulas, registration, packaging, quality inspection, and after-sales service. Sign intellectual property and confidentiality agreements with the factory, clarify the ownership of the formula, trademark, and division of responsibilities. Only by following regulations can products smoothly enter the market. Our company also follows this approach to promote its own brand projects. I hope this list is helpful to you.
