Some Thoughts on Choosing OEM Factory to Cooperate in Customizing Light Line essence Cream

  • In the cosmetics industry, products are the direct carrier of communication between brands and consumers. For brand owners, finding a suitable OEM factory to transform product concepts into physical products is a key link in supply chain management. Especially in the development of effective products such as light texture essence cream, the factory's R&D capability, production specifications and cooperation degree directly affect the quality of the final products and the rhythm of marketing. Below, we will explain from three aspects: inspection dimensions, cooperation conditions, and operational processes.

1、 Factory Inspection: Multidimensional Verification from Documents to Site

The inspection of the factory should not be limited to the review of qualification documents. It is necessary to conduct on-site visits and systematic evaluations.

Firstly, confirm the scope of production license held by the factory. It is necessary to check whether the "cream lotion" unit is included in the permit list and whether it has the production qualification of essence cream. At the same time, whether the factory has established and operated the ISO 22716 (Good Manufacturing Practice for Cosmetics) system is a reference for judging its production management level.

Secondly, the R&D capability and hardware configuration need to be evaluated correspondingly. During the visit, you can learn about the equipment configuration of the factory's R&D laboratory, such as homogenizer emulsifiers, stability test chambers, viscometers, etc. For the light line essence cream, ask the engineer about the idea of matching active substances used in the formulation development, and how to balance the moisture and absorption through the skin feeling adjustment technology. For example, in response to the demand for light lines, the formula may involve a combination of specific molecular weight hyaluronic acid or certain plant extracts. Whether the factory can provide corresponding in vitro experimental data or literature support is one of the considerations for its technical depth.

Furthermore, the management order of the production site is worth paying attention to. Observe the temperature and humidity control, raw material labeling, and storage and retrieval system of the raw material warehouse; Understand the air purification level and cleaning process of the filling workshop and emulsification workshop; Check whether the production records and equipment cleaning records are complete and traceable. A factory with standardized management usually has clear material flow markings and standardized operation manuals on its production site.

2、 Cooperation conditions: Clear rules and responsibility boundaries

Before entering into cooperation negotiations, both parties need to reach an agreement on the basic business conditions. This includes: minimum order quantity (MOQ) requirements, product unit price, sampling fees and whether they will be deducted from the bulk payment in the future, delivery cycle of the first batch of orders, payment methods (such as prepayment and final payment ratio), etc.

In addition, there are several terms that the brand needs to pay close attention to:

Firstly, the ownership of intellectual property rights. If the brand provides proprietary formulas or development ideas with specific process requirements, the contract should clearly state the ownership of the right to use this formula to avoid the factory reselling the brand's customized formula to other customers.

Secondly, efficacy verification and stability responsibility. The factory needs to promise the stability of the product within the shelf life (usually three years) and provide sample records for accelerated and long-term testing. For the claim of anti wrinkle effect, the brand needs to prepare its own efficacy evaluation summary or third-party testing report, and the factory has the obligation to cooperate in providing basic information of the formula raw materials for filing and use.

Thirdly, confidentiality agreement. Both parties sign a strict confidentiality agreement to protect the brand's product concepts, marketing strategies, and testing data from being leaked.

3、 Collaboration Process: Five Steps from Concept to Product

Requirement communication: The brand provides a product concept book, including target audience, skin preference, packaging form, budget range, and expected time to market. The factory provides preliminary formula framework and cost estimation based on this requirement.

Formula sampling: After the brand pays the sampling fee, the factory laboratory produces preliminary samples. The brand organizes internal trials, provides feedback on texture, aroma, and skin feel adjustments, and the factory makes adjustments to the formula. This stage usually requires 2-4 rounds of repetition.

Efficacy and safety verification: After sample confirmation, the factory arranges anti-corrosion challenge testing and microbiological testing, and the brand entrusts a third-party organization to complete human efficacy evaluation tests (such as changes in parameters such as wrinkle depth and skin roughness).

Trial production and filing: After conducting small-scale trial production and confirming smooth filling and packaging processes, the brand prepares product filing materials, and the factory cooperates to provide raw material quality and safety information to jointly complete the filing of domestic ordinary cosmetics.

Mass production and acceptance: The brand issues a formal order, and the factory schedules production according to the plan. When delivering the product, the brand shall conduct random inspections on the appearance, odor, net content, etc. according to the sealing standards confirmed by both parties. After passing the acceptance inspection, the goods shall be received.

Choosing a suitable OEM partner requires the brand to invest patience and meticulousness, gradually establishing trust through systematic investigation, clear business agreements, and smooth process management. The stability of quality and the long-term nature of cooperation are often more important than the low price of a single cooperation. May every brand find manufacturing partners to grow together with.
