Find a reliable factory to customize toner, and the brand should pay close attention to these aspects
When looking for a factory, you can't just look at the quotation and the texture of the samples. Toner belongs to cosmetics, and every step from formulation, production to filing and labeling must be checked according to regulations and product positioning. Here are the precautions we have summarized.
First, clarify the product positioning and formula boundaries. Write down the target skin type, usage scenario, dosage form, cost range, and acceptable skin feel, such as freshness, moisturization, and absorption rate. The efficacy claim must be based on evidence, and cannot be written as medical effects or exaggerated. The raw materials used in the formula should fall within the range of the used raw materials list. The prohibited and restricted raw materials should be checked item by item. essence, preservatives, and pH regulators should meet the requirements.
Secondly, verify the factory's qualifications and compliance capabilities. Check the business license, cosmetics production license, and permit items to confirm that they have the corresponding dosage form production capacity. The quality manager, inspection room, sample retention room, raw material storage, and filling environment all need to be inspected on site. The certification certificate can be used as a reference, but it is more important to check whether the batch records, inspection records, and change management are standardized.
Thirdly, attach importance to sampling and testing. Samples should not only be examined for skin sensation once, but also for pH, viscosity, aroma, color, heat and cold resistance, cycling, microbiology, anti-corrosion challenges, and packaging compatibility testing. Long term contact between toner and bottle body, pump head, and inner stopper may result in poor sealing and compatibility, leading to leakage, odor, or changes in content. The testing plan and judgment criteria should be written in advance into the sampling sheet.
Fourthly, the packaging materials and filling should be confirmed synchronously. The material, capacity, sealing structure, nozzle or bottle outlet should all be tested for installation. The filling environment, cleaning and disinfection, labeling and packing process should be checked, and the label content should be consistent with the recorded information. The ingredient sorting, net content, usage period, and filing number cannot be incorrect. The promotional copy should also be consistent with the filing claim.
Fifth, business and quality control terms should be included in the contract. Confirm the minimum order quantity, material preparation cycle, production scheduling time, sampling fee, testing fee, packaging material loss, and acceptance criteria. The agreed sample quantity, batch record keeping, notification of changes in raw materials or processes, quality responsibility and confidentiality clauses, as well as the ownership of the formula and intellectual property rights, should also be clearly stated. Don't just look at the unit price, comprehensive delivery time and ability to handle exceptions are more important.
Our approach is to first conduct small-scale trial production to verify the filling, labeling, sample retention, and shipping processes, and then gradually increase the quantity. The brand bears the main responsibility for product quality, and the factory is responsible for producing according to the confirmed formula and standards. Writing down the requirements, testing, filing, and acceptance items one by one is the key to avoiding unnecessary detours when customizing a toner.
