What to pay attention to when choosing a reliable factory to produce and customize a beauty and skincare water
As a brand owner, when customizing a beauty and skincare lotion, the reliability of the factory cannot be judged solely by the quotation and samples. Skincare water may seem like a simple formula, but water, moisturizers, anti-corrosion systems, packaging materials, and filling environments can all affect the user experience and compliance. In the early stage of communication, the requirements should be clearly written: product positioning, usage location, target audience, dosage form, capacity, cost range, expected order volume, and time to market. The clearer the demand, the better the factory can judge whether it can undertake it.
First, let's look at qualifications and responsibilities. Confirm that the factory has a cosmetics production license and that the licensed items match the type of skincare agent; Understand the quality management system, clean workshop, process water, and inspection capabilities. The commissioning party is usually the filer, and it is necessary to clarify who will cooperate with the filing materials, efficacy claims, and label review. The responsibility cannot be entirely handed over to the factory.
Let's take a closer look at the formula and ingredients. Require the factory to provide a list of raw materials, proof of source, inspection reports, and verification of prohibited and restricted substances. The antiseptic system, essence, pigment and pH regulator in the formula shall be confirmed item by item; There should be control standards for water phase raw materials and process water. Conduct small-scale and pilot tests during sampling, record viscosity pH、 Odor, color, and skin texture should be avoided from being determined based solely on one sample. Raw material changes, formula adjustments, and packaging material changes must be reconfirmed and documented in writing.
Next, let's look at testing and stability. Skincare water should undergo stability observation such as heat resistance, cold resistance, circulation, and light exposure, as well as microbiological testing and anti-corrosion efficacy evaluation; The packaging material needs to undergo compatibility testing to observe leakage, deformation, adsorption, and label detachment. The efficacy claim must have corresponding evaluation data, cannot use medical terminology, and cannot exceed the scope of filing.
Then look at production and quality control. Understand the filling environment, filtration process, batch recording, sample retention, traceability, and handling of non-conforming products. Sign a quality agreement that specifies quality standards, inspection items, exception handling, returns and exchanges, and division of responsibilities. Delivery time and production capacity should be documented to avoid delays in the listing process.
It also depends on the labels and contracts. The sorting of label components, filing number, expiration date, and warning language must comply with regulations; The ownership, confidentiality, intellectual property rights, molds, and packaging materials of the formula should be included in the contract. We will also arrange on-site visits to verify the workshop, warehouse, inspection room, and sample room, and confirm each item with the project team. Prepare a list of questions before the visit, take photos for record keeping, and confirm the meeting minutes by both parties.
Seal the samples before cooperation as a basis for subsequent batch comparisons; Check the inspection report and label version for each batch of goods received. Finding a factory is not about comparing prices, but about whether it can integrate the formula, production, testing, filing, and delivery into a traceable process. Writing the requirements into the contract and records will make future cooperation smoother.
